One of the best ways to experience Austin’s natural beauty is by visiting Lady Bird Lake. This reservoir on the Colorado River offers scenic views right in the heart of the city. You can rent a kayak or paddleboard and glide across the water while enjoying the skyline. If you prefer staying on land, the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail circles the lake and stretches for about 10 miles. It’s perfect for walking, running, or biking. The trail passes through parks and green spaces, making it a peaceful escape from the city buzz. Early mornings or late afternoons are ideal times to visit, as the weather is cooler and the light is beautiful for photos.
